Projects with Meaning

While we at Burns Crafts love just the act of creating new things, we enjoy it even more when we can make things that hold special meanings for the recipients. The one that holds the most meaning for me so far is the necklace and custom box that I made for my mom. The pendant on the necklace contains the birthstones of her children with a branch for each of the grandkids. The chain is made of links with the birthstones of all of the grand and great grandchildren. The custom box is made from a portion of my dad’s old workbench, which I received after Dad passed away a few months before I started this project. This project contained many firsts for me and was a great challenge, while at the same time helping me to work through the recent loss of my Dad.
